I have a very rich history with Animal Crossing. It was the first video game I ever played! When I was around 5 years old, my family recieved a hand-me-down Gamecube. That system changed my life! I would watch my mom play Luigi's Mansion (which scared me a lot), I would attempt to play Super Mario Sunshine (but would get frustrated and quit), and I would play Animal Crossing: Population Growing!

I continued to adore the Animal Crossing series throughout my childhood. The first town I lived in, in Population Growing, was created by my mom. The third town I lived in, Twilight, was also created by my mother. Although I did get to have my own town in Wild World, it wasn't the same as a home console town to me. Finally, with the release of New Leaf, I was able to be the mayor of my own town and name it and decorate it however I wanted!

I vividly remember when New Leaf was announced, and I begged my parents to buy me the special edition 3DSXL. They bought it for me, and I was overjoyed! My New Leaf town went through many iterations, but by far the most long-lasting was Luperci.

As I grew older with Luperci and began interacting with the larger Animal Crossing community, I started to actually get "good" at the game. I'd maxxed out my house, gotten jacob's ladders, and had used the new QR code function to get some cute pathways in my town.

I love Animal Crossing, and it has had a profound impact on my life, from my outlook to my aesthetic sensibilities. If you have never played Animal Crossing, I hope this little page might inspire you to pick it up! You won't regret it.
